A high-quality early years education improves the lives of children, has a positive impact on their future educational attainment and contributes towards social equality.

As well as offering representation, advice, support, and benefits such as CPD, the NEU also supports members with networking, organising, and peer-support through our early years forum. We also provide a forum for those working in Maintained Nursery Schools.

MNS face higher costs than many other providers, and receive insufficient supplementary funding to support the quality of education they deliver. Read the joint unions letter to Sir David Bell on the importance of maintained nursery schools in his review of early years for Labour.
