"With the introduction of the new curriculum, and the inevitable look at qualifications relating to that, this is an opportunity to look again at the Bacc.
"For example, we believe the Welsh Bacc has the opportunity to enable students to undertake better critical thinking, and therefore supports WG aims around engaged citizens. The Welsh Bacc has been included as a performance measure, which we believe the current Education Minister should move away from.
"Austerity has inevitably impacted on the Bacc, as schools and colleges are restricted in the activities around it, that young people can do. To support the Bacc, investment is needed in education to ensure resources and support are there for students and education professionals alike."
