This year’s responses show a profession let down by the pay and progression systems under which they work. Despite working through the toughest times of the pandemic without adequate protection, delivering education in the face of unprecedented challenges, teachers have seen pay and allowances frozen. The rising cost of living and unfair progression systems mean educators are being badly undervalued, and it is no surprise to see rising numbers considering leaving the profession.
