NEU condemns Israeli army killing of Mohammed Tamimi

Published:

The NEU sends deepest sympathy to the family of Mohammed Tamimi who has died of his injuries after being shot by Israeli military forces on 1 June, close to his home in his village of Nabi Saleh, in the Palestinian West Bank. His father, Haitham, was also injured in the attack.

Mohammed was just three-years-old. He is the 150th Palestinian killed by Israel since the beginning of this year.

The killings are the direct result of the illegal Israeli occupation of the West Bank in contravention of international law.

Our thoughts are with Mohammed’s family. We mourn his loss and send best wishes for a speedy recovery to Haitham Tamimi and Bilal Tamimi who were also injured in the shooting.

NEU members who have visited Nabi Saleh on the Union’s regular delegations to Palestine have always received kindness and hospitality from families in the village. We send our solidarity to all our friends in Nabi Saleh at this terrible time for the whole community.
