An introduction to trauma and mental health informed schools – part 2

This training, supported by over 1000 evidence-based research studies, is designed to empower school staff to understand the needs of children and teenagers who have suffered a trauma or have a mental health issue. Delegates will also learn what happens in Trauma and Mental Health Informed schools in terms of key relational approaches and interventions to positively impact the whole school culture. This session will cover:

Model Three: PROTECT/RELATE/REGULATE/REFLECT
The role of emotionally available adults in schools: Benefit to staff and students
‘I wish my teacher knew’ They want to tell us. Are we ready to hear?
Key skills in responding to and understanding challenging and/or trauma triggered behaviour.

This is part two of a two-part session - this session will include a 15 min Q&A. Part one is on Monday 19 October 3.15-4.45pm, so be sure to sign up for it too. Unfortunately, it is not possible to provide recordings of these sessions.

Christine has had over 25 years’ experience in education as a teacher and senior leader in mainstream and special schools and as a Local Authority Adviser. Christine has extensive experience as trainer and is passionately committed to supporting colleagues and families to improve the life chances of troubled and troubling children and young people.
