Commenting on the passing of motion 29 at Annual Conference in Harrogate, Daniel Kebede, general secretary of the National Education Union, said:
“Conference today has reaffirmed its commitment to professional unity. Education workers are stronger when they collectivise in their workplaces.
“The NEU has gone from strength to strength since its formation in 2017. The union is now the largest education union in Europe. Our profession would be stronger still if there was one union for all.
“The NEU will redouble its efforts to work with our sister unions to fight for fair pay for educators and the investment in our education service that our children and young people deserve.”
