The PAC are absolutely right to focus on the worst teacher recruitment and retention crisis in a generation created by long hours, poor pay and Ofsted.
We should recognise the hard work of children and teachers in year 6 for the SATs exams but also that they narrow the curriculum and place unnecessary stress on pupils.
It is a contradiction for this government to say they recognise the benefits of high-quality early education whilst our Maintained Nursery Schools (MNS) are under threat.
