Informing your line manager, head teacher or employer of your situation can be difficult. It is up to you how much or how little information you wish to give if you have experienced a pregnancy loss / baby loss before the end of 24 weeks. You will need to give notice of your absence – you can follow the usual sickness absence procedures to do this - but there is no obligation on you to give details if you prefer not to do so.
