How to vote in the indicative ballot

Our indicative ballots for teachers and support staff in English state-funded schools are being conducted online

At 11 am on Saturday, 28 February all eligible members will be sent a link to their individual digital ballot, by email and text.

Please take a few minutes to read more about the ballot including the reasons why your elected executive is recommending that you vote YES to both questions.

We are conducting separate, but parallel ballots – one for support staff and one for teachers. Although the ballot questions are slightly different in each ballot, the underlying issue is the same: years of chronic underfunding of our schools.

For teachers, we are asking you to reject an unfunded 6.5 per cent pay rise spread over three years and threats to remove the 1,265 limit on directed time , and to take action to win funding for pay and to prevent workload rising further.

For support staff, we are asking you to commit to defending support staff jobs and to take action to win funding for pay, reduced workload and to prevent further redundancies.

Please look out for the link in your email or text on 28 February and vote as soon as it arrives. Reminders will be sent via email and text on a weekly basis to those who have not voted, until the ballot closes on 17 April.

You have until 4pm on Friday, 17 April to cast your vote.

If you have a problem with your voting link, can’t find it or have accidentally deleted it, please email ballotenquiries@neu.org.uk
