Covid-19 still has the potential to cause disruption to education, particularly during winter when other viruses are also circulating. New variants are likely to continue to appear and long covid remains a debilitating condition that affects both staff and children.
Making sure staff and children are as protected as possible will help keep absence levels among staff and children as low as is possible and prevent children missing out on education. It is also important to remember that sections of the population remain more vulnerable, so it is incumbent upon all of us to do what we can to keep infection levels as low as possible.
