The NEU is offering a unique opportunity to its members who are experts in the teaching of Spanish to primary or secondary school pupils. We are seeking up to eight members to travel to Nicaragua during the summer break to share their knowledge and skills with Nicaraguan teachers of English. Your expertise in teaching language acquisition will be an invaluable asset as Nicaragua seeks to develop English language teaching in its schools.
This is a partnership project between the NEU, ANDEN (the Nicaraguan teachers’ union) and the Nicaragua Solidarity Campaign Action Group. This will be the fourth time this exchange has run, and each previous exchange has been highly successful. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for teachers of Spanish to share their language teaching skills, show solidarity with teachers in Nicaragua and to see and experience the country, visit its schools and meet its people. Successful candidates will be expected to help support a return visit by Nicaraguan teachers of English in 2027.
