Maternity rights motion

The government must do more to strengthen the rights of pregnant women, bereaved parents, new mothers and women returning to work.

Leading pay campaigning in the independent sector

NEU will continue the robust and sustained national campaign to defend independent members in the face of a relentless attack on their pensions and contractual rights.

Supporting agency workers in education

A strategy for agency workers will challenge unfair Government proposals – such as the threat to AWR - and campaign for tighter monitoring.

Abortion rights

The NEU will continue to campaign for abortion rights so that women have a right to choose and have access to the reproductive healthcare that they need.

NEU condemns the Strike Bill, which would allow the Secretary of State to override a lawful democratic decision for strike action.

Student wellbeing and mental health

NEU will continue to campaign to alleviate the devastating effects often years of austerity on the lives of children and their families.
