Commenting on Fight for Ordinary, a new campaign report on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) reform by the Disabled Children’s Partnership, Daniel Kebede, general secretary of the National Education Union, said:
“Every child deserves a good education and the chance to thrive. The DCP's campaign rightly calls on the government to invest in mainstream inclusion with the increased access to vital specialists alongside training. Getting this right now for SEND children is crucial.
“The NEU wants to see a redesigned education system with reform of curriculum, assessment and accountability underpinning additional support from specialists, time for teachers to teach inclusively and revitalised local support services.”
