Improving your feedback

In this session, Ross McGill known globally as @TeacherToolkit, will explore the practical applications of research-informed feedback strategies to strengthen your practice. The session covers how feedback is delivered, received, and evaluated.

This session is for teachers ready to challenge the prevailing norms about feedback, which have burdened the profession with unrealistic expectations. It pivots the focus from traditional approaches to a more refined approach that genuinely advances learning.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand different types of feedback, including verbal, non-verbal and whole class.
  • Identify ways of structuring feedback effectively that supports learning and addresses misconceptions.
  • Move away from laborious marking towards refined, meaningful feedback.
