Fighting sexism: Constructively engaging boys and young men

This session will outline a range of theoretical and practical approaches and strategies for successfully engaging boys and young men in meaningful dialogues about the myriad social influences seeking to shape their beliefs and behaviours towards themselves, male peers and women and girls. Having a positive vision, clear aims and smart facilitation methods are crucial to promoting positive outcomes in this increasingly prioritised area of safeguarding.

This webinar will be an opportunity to:

  • Clarify the ‘why’ – push and the pull factors for educators to facilitate intentional engagement opportunities with boys and young men around these issues
  • Think carefully about the ‘how’ – identifying the challenges, pitfalls and effective responses to them; planning, communication, skill-building and responsiveness to changing contexts

Suitable for: All members
