Building welcome for people seeking safety

In this session, we will reflect on the challenges experienced by children and families seeking sanctuary in the UK today before introducing the Schools of Sanctuary model.

The Schools of Sanctuary programmes support schools to challenge misconceptions and build empathy amongst children; to effectively support children and families seeking safety; and to contribute to building a culture of compassion, belonging and solidarity in school and beyond.

In this session you will:

  • Learn about the Schools of Sanctuary initiative & how to get involved
  • Gain an understanding of the experiences of children and families seeking sanctuary in the UK
  • Be inspired by case studies of schools who have gone above and beyond to foster welcome and stand in solidarity with people seeking sanctuary

Suitable for: All members
