Autistic girls: misunderstood, missed out, masking

Autistic girls can be some of the most vulnerable, and least supported pupils we work with. They can be hard to spot and do anything to fit in. Whether they have a diagnosis or not, they can struggle in many aspects of their life. At this webinar you will learn what to look for, how to understand autistic girls and what you can do to help them achieve.

The session will cover:

  • What you might notice about an autistic girl (and what you cannot see)
  • Why are more boys than girls diagnosed?
  • Why how you talk about autism really matters.
  • What is especially hard for autistic girls in school?
  • Why autistic masking is not conscious or voluntary.

Join to learn from multiple perspectives of autistic girls and women and find out what you can do to help your autistic pupils and colleagues.

Suitable for: All members
