We are asking NEU members and school groups to join in the fun and raise money for the NEU + Save the Children: Raising Hope for Children in Crisis appeal.
This year’s Christmas Jumper Day is on 11th December, but you can celebrate it on another day if this date doesn’t work for your school.
Christmas Jumper Day is a fun way to spread the festive spirit whilst raising funds for children around the world. It is one of Save the Children's biggest annual fundraising events – raising over £40 million since 2012.
What you can do:
- Offer creative, inclusive alternatives so that all children can take part. For example, provide plain T-shirts and materials to decorate instead of requiring Christmas jumpers to be worn, and encourage the use of accessories and upcycling rather than purchasing new jumpers.
- Our fundraising poster includes all the information about Christmas Jumper Day and how funds raised will support children caught up in armed conflicts and disasters.
- Put it up in your classroom and staffroom to let everyone know about the day and encourage them to scan the QR code to donate directly to the appeal.
- You can help by simply wearing a Christmas jumper and making a donation to the Raising Hope appeal. There’s no need to purchase a new jumper—feel free to decorate one you already have.
