Using film and filmmaking in the secondary classroom

In this session, you’ll discover how learning through film and filmmaking can be embedded meaningfully across all subjects and education phases. We will demonstrate some short film-focused activities, and you will leave with resources to use right away with your students. 

By the end of the session, you will be able to: 

  • Use a simple framework to infer meaning from film, audio and print texts alike
  • Use contextual knowledge to embed clues in visual texts
  • Understand how to use basic filmmaking techniques to deepen knowledge and creatively consolidate understanding of a topic
  • Draw upon a vast range of support resources from Into Film
