A key role of any trade union is to negotiate with employers on behalf of its members. This includes matters such as pay, working conditions, health and safety, and redundancy procedures. To do this effectively, a union must be recognised by the employer—something the NEU has achieved in most schools and colleges where our members work.
Our workplace reps are your first point of contact for support and representation. They’re based in schools and colleges across the country, standing up for members like you and ensuring your voice is heard.

Free comprehensive insurance cover from personal accidents to loss or damage to personal property, including teaching equipment, whilst undertaking your role as an education professional.
