Our reps success stories

NEU reps and activists are uniting with members to campaign and achieve meaningful changes in their schools and colleges.

What is a trade union, and why join one?

A trade union is an organisation that represents workers. Its main goal is to protect and advance the interests of its members.

Joining a union means you won’t have to handle workplace issues alone. As a union member, you can unite with your colleagues to create a stronger voice when addressing important work-related matters, such as negotiating your salary and working conditions.

Additionally, union members gain access to valuable advice, support, workplace representation, and opportunities for professional development. They also have access to other benefits, including insurance.

It is strongly recommended that everyone who works in education join a union.
