Creating an inclusive culture for oracy and connection in the classroom using drama approaches

How do we create classrooms where every pupil feels confident to speak, think, and connect? In this session you’ll explore how drama approaches can unlock meaningful talk and collaboration. You’ll reflect on your current practice, hear a case study, and leave with manageable strategies to build a more inclusive and engaging learning environment.

At this session you will:

  • Understand the benefits of talk for learning and connection in the classroom
  • Receive top tips from a drama practitioner, former teacher and Creative Education Consultant on how to overcome barriers for talk/oracy in the classroom
  • Take away a range of practical strategies you can apply in your own classroom, suitable for any subject specialism
  • Reflect on your own practice and identify the opportunities to increase oracy in your classroom

Suitable for: Secondary teachers, subject leaders and supply.
