How to talk about the ethics of AI using philosophical enquiry (P4C)

This session reveals some of the ethical issues raised by rapid developments in AI and outlines how a philosophical enquiry approach helps educators challenge students to think about them with criticality, creativity, compassion and care.

The session reveals how case studies and playful experiments with AI, can be used as a springboard for discussion, illuminating issues such as honesty, integrity, truth, belief, knowledge and bias – issues that go to the heart of being a good student and a good citizen.

  • Contextualised examples of how AI ethics arise in the classroom
  • A deeper undertaking of the philosophical dimensions of these issues
  • Some simple strategies and stimuli for facilitating dialogue around AI
