Our workplace reps are our key local leaders. They are the first point of contact for our members and can be involved in recruiting and mobilising members, listening to members’ concerns, and winning for our members in the workplace.
But we don’t expect our reps to do this alone. We have developed an award-winning programme to enable reps to progressively build their skills and confidence. The programme is delivered in our regions and Wales so will close to where you live or work. Reps have a legal entitlement to attend training on full pay and we will support reps where they encounter any difficulties in getting time off.

Foundation
Reps Foundation is a three-day course for newly elected reps or those who have not previously attended training.
Please note! You must sign up to all 3 days.
You have the legal right to reasonable paid time off to attend training in your new workplace rep role. Any problems with this please contact your Regional/Wales office.

Advanced
Reps Advanced is a three-day course which builds on the skills, knowledge and understanding gained during the Reps Foundation course.

Please also note that if you attended the online Being an Effective Rep then it is essential that you attend the one-day in person Being an Effective Rep - Part 2 course before coming on Reps Advanced. Apply here.

Foundation
The NEU Rep Training programme:
All Reps begin with the three-day Reps Foundation course, which will give you the skills and knowledge to be immediately effective in your workplace.
After you have completed your Reps Foundation, you can then access the Reps Advanced course as well as a range of one-day courses.
All rep training is free, is a legal entitlement, and is delivered by your NEU Region or NEU Cymru.
