Young people are angry that those in power are taking away their future. They are showing their deep concern about the climate crisis and are seeking to shape and influence decisions taken now which will impact on their future, including through the Youth Strikes for Climate.

“Government needs to step up to the scale of the challenge young people are responding to. Schools and colleges also have an important role to play in responding to climate change by educating about the scale of the problem and the measures needed to deal with it and by ensuring that they model good practice by becoming zero carbon.

“Just Transition is an issue for every citizen, with educators playing a key role in ensuring that young people have the skills to be successfully part of the transformation to a low carbon economy that works for everyone.”
