About the event

This course has been developed specifically for NEU Union learning Reps to help you build the skills, knowledge and confidence to carry out the ULR role and develop a trade union approach to learning.


This is a 2 part course open to Union Learning Reps who have not undergone training or those ULRs who need a refresher. You must sign up to both days so please ensure you have time off agreed with your employer for the 2 days when booking. Please discuss your booking with your Regional Learning and Development Organiser before booking.

The course will cover:

Day 1

  • The ULR role in the NEU
  • Learning in your area
  • NEU ULR and legal rights
  • Identifying learning needs
  • Working with providers

Day 2

  • Communicating on learning
  • Using learning to organise
  • Planning and designing learning event
  • Useful learning resources
