This course addresses the multiple skills involved in writing and how this translates to the classroom

The morning will cover two presentations. ‘Writing is Hard Work’ addressing the multiple skills involved in writing and the need to find out where the writer's strengths and challenges lie. ‘Think Twice – Write Once’ considers the theory of metacognition for writing and how this translates to the classroom. Afternoon has a choice two workshops which need to be pre booked.

Primary: practical session run as a workshop which gives the delegates a chance to try out ideas and develop a range of techniques to advance writing skills with particular reference to learners with SEND.

Secondary/FE: This interactive session looks at the process of writing and ways to improve academic outcomes at each stage. These practical strategies can be used inclusively across the curriculum for all learners as well as supporting those with specific writing difficulties.
