About the event

This course is designed to help you understand the mental health needs of Looked After Children.

At the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Identify risk factors to mental health and explore the prevalence of such factors in Looked After Children's experiences, including the impact of adverse childhood experience, trauma, and insecure attachment.
  • Identify ways of reducing mental health risk factors in Looked After Young People.
  • Identity and understand issues around stigma.
  • Develop practical tools to build resilience in Looked After Young People.

Who is this course for? This course gives anyone who works with Looked After Children and Young People an understanding of their mental health needs and the tools needed to support them.
