On Saturday 10th July International Solidarity Conference 2021 opened with addresses from Mary Bousted and David Edwards (General Secretary, Education International).
The conference, led by Gawain Little (Chair, International Committee), saw participants engage in a range of stimulating workshops and plenary sessions.
Plenary highlights included an interview by Kevin Courtney with Michelle Bachelet (UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and former President of Chile); Junior Vice President Louise Atkinson interviewing Ziauddin Yousafzai (teacher, father of Malala, and Malala Fund co-founder); and inspiring speeches from five international solidarity officers (ISOs) about their work as ISOs.
