NEU Ballot/h1>

Why we need you to vote YES to action!

  • The situation has reached crisis point, colleagues are leaving due to the pressures linked to funding cuts.
  • The cuts are having an impact on all colleagues, not just teachers.
  • We have to send a clear message to the Government that enough is enough.

We have to vote YES and be prepared to vote yes in any subsequent formal industrial action ballot.

    How to vote

The online indicative ballot opens on 15 November and runs until early January 2019.

All eligible members will from today receive either an email or a letter in the post with a unique reference number and instructions on how to vote online in the indicative ballot.

If you don't receive an email or a letter by 30 November, please let us know by completing our ballot enquiries form.

    Who is eligible to vote

We are balloting all teachers in

    • State-funded schools (including academies) in England
    • Sixth form colleges in England

We want every teacher in all state-funded schools and sixth form colleges to participate and make this ballot a success.

Why are support staff not balloted?

The additional funding pressure linked to the implementation of the STRB pay settlement means we cannot legally ballot support staff members on this particular issue. School funding is an issue that affects every member and as a support staff, we want you to get involved in this campaign. If you are the rep in your workplace we would like you to hold a meeting of all members, talk to everyone about the funding campaign and the indicative ballot and encourage those eligible to vote, to vote YES!

We have created a set of frequently asked questions for NEU representatives and members that answers questions you may have on the indicative ballot. If you haven't received your ballot paper or email invitation by 30 November, please complete our ballot enquiries form using the link below.
