Rep and officer awards

The NEU invited members to nominate an NEU Representative/Officer who deserves to be recognised by the union for their hard work and commitment.

The awards are judged at regional level and are made up of one rep and one officer from Northern Ireland and from each region in England and Wales.

These Regional/Wales/Northern Ireland winners are then put forward for consideration for the National Representative and Officer of the Year awards.

The regional winners will be announced in February 2024 and they will be presented with their awards by their Regional/Wales/Northern Ireland Executive.

The national winner will be announced at the NEU annual conference 2024 where they will be invited to receive their award in person.

All winners will be celebrated on this page, in our award-winning magazine and on social media.

National officer of the year 2023

The National Education Union would like to congratulate Andrew Cunningham as 2022/23 NEU national officer of the year. At his school, Parklands High School in Chorley, Lancashire, Andrew Cunningham achieved a 100 per cent turnout in the pay strike ballot. National rep officer of the year 2023

The National Education Union would like to congratulate Sarita Healey as 2022/23 NEU national representative of the year. Sarita, who works at King Edward VI Lordswood School for Girls, in Birmingham, organised colleagues to take five days of strike action – the first ever strike at the school – to oppose academisation in the summer of 2022.
