Support staff: strategies for reading and study skills

Being able to read accurately, comprehend text and transfer information into your memory is vital to accessing the curriculum. This webinar will equip support staff with a wealth of strategies to support reading. 

This webinar will equip support staff with a wealth of strategies to support reading. It will go on to look at key study skills to enable learners to get the most out of their learning. The strategies can be taught in one-to-one or small group settings to meet specific needs or gaps in learning and can be flexibly used in both the primary and secondary settings.

In session you will explore:
• Presentation of written materials
• Types of reading
• Reciprocal reading
• Reading exam questions
• Study skills –organisational skills and time management, prioritising and planning, revision techniques and memory aids
