The NEU Support Staff Conference will take place on Saturday 5 October at the NEU head office, Hamilton House London.

NEU President Amanda Martin will open the Conference, followed by a keynote address and Q&A session with NEU joint general secretary Kevin Courtney.

CPD and Discussion Groups

There will then be an opportunity for members to attend two out of five workshops, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. All five sessions will be interactive and provide practical strategies, tips and techniques to take back to the workplace.

If you’d like to be considered for a place at the Conference, please complete the application form. The Central Events Team will contact your district to request they fund your conference fee. Your district will usually pay your travel expenses too.

Annual Conference Motion and 6 guaranteed Support Staff delegates

NEU Rule 10.3 reads as follows:

“Each Section (including the Support Staff Section) will elect 6 delegates to annual conference. Each section conference will be able to submit a motion to annual conference, on particular policy areas relevant to that section, in addition to those submitted via local districts and the Executive.” If you wish to submit a motion to the Support Staff Conference, as per Rule 10.3, please send it to Peter Morris by September 12.

Support staff delegates

If you intend to come to the Conference on October 5th, and you wish to be considered for election as one of the 6 guaranteed delegates to Annual Conference, please send a supporting statement of no more than 200 words to Peter Morris by no later than Thursday 12 September.  As a support staff member, you are also entitled to seek election to the Annual Conference via your District in the normal way.
