Are you interested in working with pupil voice to support relationships and sex education? Do you want to empower your students to speak out on equality and diversity matters?

AGENDA is a unique and timely resource as relationships and sex education becomes statutory across England in 2020 and in Wales in 2022. The AGENDA resource provides practitioners with a range of interactive and accessible activities to support children and young people to safely and creatively express what matters to them, and what they would like to change. It can be used by schools to develop an inclusive relationships and sex education. It can also help with the development of a whole school approach to gender equality and social justice. For further information, you can view the interactive online AGENDA resource here.

The professional train the trainer learning is split into two parts. The first training day will provide NEU members in primary and secondary schools with the skills and knowledge to put AGENDA to work in a variety of contexts.  The second training day members will have the opportunity to share their experience of how they used AGENDA in practice and the impact it had. To get the full benefit of this train the trainer course you will need to attend both days.

Training days:

  • Day 1: Saturday 18 January 2020, NEU headquarters, Hamilton House, Mabledon Place London.
  • Day 1: Saturday 1 February 2020, Cardiff University, Cardiff Wales.
  • Day 2: Saturday 6 June 2020, venue tbc.

If you would like to get involved, please e-mail Sally Thomas with your name, NEU region and whether you work in a primary or secondary school. Applications will be prioritised to ensure a regional diversity.
