The day will open with a short speech from NEU President, Robin Bevan.
You will then hear responses to the FE reforms proposed by Government in the forthcoming White Paper from Kevin Courtney, NEU joint general secretary, Iain Murray, Senior Policy Officer TUC, and Labour’s shadow minister for Skills and Apprenticeships, Toby Perkins MP. The discussion will be summed up by the NEU post-16 seat holder on the National Executive, Jean Evanson.
The second part of the conference will deal with post-16 motions. Each year, the post-16 conference submits one motion to be debated at the union’s annual conference.
Finally, we will end with a session on organising and training in and for post-16 members and reps. This will help you participate in the largest education union in Europe and shape how it is developing in the post-16 sector.
Deadline to register for the conference is 5pm, Tuesday 3 November.
Please join us for what promises to be a significant and historical conference.
