This year's NEU independent sector conference – the first in person since pre-Covid will take place at Hamilton House, NEU HQ, London.
Independent sector members are facing an unprecedented attack on their pay and conditions from the toxic combination of an assault on the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS) and 40 year-high inflation over 10%. The conference offers a chance for you to hear from the NEU national leadership, national council independent sector representatives and independent school reps who have successfully defended the TPS.
The keynote speaker is Samira Ahmed, a staunch supporter of the NEU Girls Day Schools Trust (GDST) TPS campaign.
The conference will choose a motion to be debated at the NEU annual conference 2023 and six delegates chosen to attend and represent the views of independent members.
Motions should be emailed to David Kimber by Friday, 28 October.
The conference is free to NEU members to attend and includes lunch and refreshments.
Deadline for conference registration is Friday 28 October.
