Introduction to children's and young people's mental health

This multi-disciplinary course is designed to give you a good grounding in young people's mental health. It will help you find out find out how you can promote their mental health and wellbeing and improve their access to services and support.

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:

  • apply the latest conceptual models for thinking about mental health and mental health problems in teenagers
  • describe current theories and research covering: attachment, brain development, risk and resilience
  • explore your own perspective on children and young people's mental health alongside other points of view, including young people's voices, as a foundation for further learning
