Three ways to help us end the crisis in schools funding
- £2.8bn has been cut from school budgets since 2015
- Primary schools have had £45.4k cut, on average, per year
- Secondary schools have had an average budget cut of £185.2k per year
Earlier this year, we set the government six tests for the budget. The first and foremost of these was to immediately reverse school funding cuts. Instead, chancellor Phillip Hammond offered a derisory £400m for all schools across England to pay for some "little extras" - less than the £420m he gave to fix potholes.
For our members - the leaders, teachers and support staff in your local school - enough is enough. Along with members of the NAHT and ASCL, they are now considering whether to take industrial action.
They need your support.
